Cincinnati Bengals’ Dre Kirkpatrick on Sunday called a penalty made against him in Bengals’ 28-21 loss to the Steelers ‘trash’ and remained defiant that the Bengals were better than the Steelers.

“We’re better than them,” Kirkpatrick said after the game. “They ain’t better than us, period. They ain’t better than us. We’re better than them. But they won, so my hat’s off to them. I’m going to be a team player. They went out there and they fought. They got the win. We got the loss.”

The Steelers won Sunday’s game in the most dramatic way. With 10 seconds to the game, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger lobbed a 31-yard pass to Antonio Brown who completed a touchdown to make it 28 scores to 21. The Steelers has grabbed winning points in Cincinnati three times with 14 seconds, 10 and zero seconds into the end of the game.

Although defiant about the loss, Kirkpatrick dismissed a penalty called against him as trash.

“Trash, I don’t even care if they fine me. Trash. Trash call….C’mon, man. Critical situation, man. They gotta be right on with that.”

The penalty gave Pittsburgh a down before Brown’s touchdown game the Steelers a win.

In spite of the loss, the Bengals rank above the Steelers in the AFC North Standings with four wins and two losses this season. The two teams will meet again in Pittsburgh in the finale of the regular season.
