Chicago Bears are not done with spending their money after giving their newest acquisition, linebacker Khalil Mack, whopping $141 million. Bears announced on Friday that they had signed defensive tackle Eddie Goldman to a four-year extension, which will see the 24-year-old staying in Chicago through the 2022 season.

According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, the extension is worth $42 million and includes $25 million in guarantees.

This is a key extension for the future of the Bears and an anchor for our defense,” – said Bears’ general manager Ryan Pace in a statement. “We are excited to be able to reward one of our own in Eddie. We put pride in drafting and developing players and Eddie has put the work in every day to earn this opportunity.

We want to extend our congratulations to Goldman for being able to be part of this thing for a while. We’re excited for him, and we’re excited for us. He’s worked hard to get to this point.” – added coach Matt Nagy.

Chicago Bears selected Eddie Goldman in the second round of 2015 NFL Draft. In 36 NFL games, he managed 84 tackles, 8.5 sacks, 15 quarterback hurries and one fumble recovery. Goldman finished the 2017 season with career-high 44 tackles.
