New Chicago Bears’ defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano isn’t keen on being a head coach in the NFL anymore. Pagano, who was HC with Indianapolis Colts between 2012 and 2017, told reporters on Thursday that he doesn’t have the interest to do this kind of job anymore.

“I’m not. I’ve done it,” – said Pagano during his introductory press conference. “I’m motivated to just help coach Matt Nagy be successful. Help this organization be successful. Help these kids grow and develop. That’s my motivation is to be the best I can be for this organization, for the McCaskey family, for Coach Nagy and for these players and for these coaches and help develop these guys. That’s the only thing I want to do.”

Pagano joined the Bears in January after their DC Vic Fangio took the HC job with the Denver Broncos. He was considered for several head coaching vacancies in the recent weeks, including the Green Bay Packer, but failed to get a job and decided to come to Chicago.

During his time with the Colts, Chuck Pagano enjoyed early success and managed to win two AFC South titles and make three consecutive playoff appearances. Still, after Colts missed out on playoffs in the next three years, and finished the 2017 season with a 4-12 record, Pagano was fired. He ended his stint in Indianapolis having 53-43 regular-season record and being 3-3 in the playoffs.
