German powerhouse Bayern Munich has reportedly secured a loan deal for Manchester City’s highly-rated left-back Joao Cancelo. The two teams have been discussing the details of the move in recent weeks, and Cancelo is currently in Munich, where he’s scheduled to undergo a medical.

According to influential soccer insider Fabrizio Romano, Cancelo will join Bayern on loan until the end of the season. The agreement also contains a €70 million option for the Bundesliga side to make the move permanent.

Cancelo has been open to leaving Manchester City after becoming losing his starting place in the team. He started 16 times in the domestic competition in 2022/23 but spent the last two games on the bench. The Premier League club also didn’t mind letting him go, as the emergence of Rico Lewis and Nathan Ake made them believe they had the position well-covered.

Bayern, on the other hand, believes it will benefit from Cancelo’s versatility. The 28-year-old player is capable of covering both sides of the field and has attacking traits that manager Julian Nagelsmann likes in his defensive backs.

Joao Cancelo joined Manchester City in 2019 from Juventus. He played 154 games with the club, scoring nine goals and adding 22 assists. During his time in England, Cancelo helped City win back-to-back Premier League titles and EFL Cup.

Gunner's favorite movies are Pulp Fiction, Iron Man (just the first one), and every James Bond film ever made. He's learning TV and cinema and hoping to always enjoy movies as he does now.
