Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has sent a strong message on Tuesday to all clubs trying to lure away striker Robert Lewandowski. According to Rummenigge, Lewandowski isn’t for sale, and Bayern won’t part with the player even if a $175 million offer comes their way.

With Robert, we clearly want to send a signal to people within and outside the club: Bayern Munich are completely different to other clubs who get weak when certain sums come along,” – Rummenigge told TZ. “We want to show that our door remains closed. We are completely satisfied with him, and, in his position, there are only a few players who are comparable. We have no interest in selling him and it does not matter if somebody offers $115 or 175 million. The top quality we have stays with us.

Robert Lewandowski has been linked with multiple clubs during this transfer window. Real Madrid has been trying to acquire the 29-year-old for some time now and might make a final push after selling Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus. Meanwhile, new Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is trying to bolster his attack and identified Lewandowski as his primary target.

Robert Lewandowski started his professional career in his native Poland before making a switch to Borussia Dortmund worth around $5 million. With Dortmund, he established himself as one of best strikers in the world, scoring 74 goals in 131 matches and helping his team to win two consecutive Bundesliga titles.

In 2014, Lewandowski signed a contract with Bayern Munich and won four more Bundesliga trophies. He has scored 101 goals in 126 games played for Bayern.
