Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are making one last attempt to keep Canada international wing back Alphonso Davies. According to club’s sporting director Max Eberl, Bayern offered Davies an improved new deal and are now waiting for his response.

If Davies ends up refusing the offer, Bayern will look to sell the player in the summer in order to avoid losing him for free. Davies is currently under contract with the German club until the summer of 2025.

“I can say we made Alphonso a very concrete, appreciative offer,” Eberl told German media outlet Sport Bild. “At some point in life you have to say yes or no.”

It was previously reported that La Liga giants Real Madrid are already in agreement about signing Davies whenever he becomes available. Madrid will make an attempt to sign Davies this summer, but if Bayern’s asking price becomes too steep, they are ready to wait for another season before getting their man.

Alphonso Davies started his professional career with Vancouver Whitecaps and made his MLS debut as a 15-year-old in 2016. Davies would go on to play three seasons for Vancouver, earning an MLS All-Star nod in 2018, before securing a transfer to Bayern.

In Germany, Davies established himself as one of the best wing-backs in soccer. He made 184 appearances for Bayern in all competitions, scoring nine goals and adding 28 assists while helping the club win five Bundesliga titles and one UEFA Champions League trophy.
