The new Bundesliga season is underway and defending champs Bayern Munich opened it with a draw against Hertha Berlin in front of a sold-out Allianz Arena in Munich. The end result was disappointing for the home side, knowing that they rushed a one-goal deficit in the second half.

The home team opened the score first in the 24th minute through Robert Lewandowski, after Serge Gnabry’s cross found the best striker from last season in front of the empty goal. After that, Bayern’s players, as well as their fans, were shocked when Hertha overturned the result in their favor after scoring 2 goals in 36th and 38th minute.

Dodi Lukebakio scored the equalizing goal after his shot was deflected by his captain Vedad Ibisevic, which left Manuel Neuer without a chance to react. Two minutes later, Mario Grujic managed to run away from Bayern’s defense and ended up one on one against Neuer, scoring the second goal before half time.

At the start of the second period, Grujic pulled Lewandowski in his penalty box without a ball which resulted in a penalty that the Polish striker used to equalize to 2-2, the same result that remained until the end.

I am a reality TV junkie. My dream since I was a kid was to be on Big Brother, but until then you can catch me binge-watching episodes each summer.
