Philippe Coutinho ‘s time with Barcelona might not be over. According to Barca’s manager Quique SetiĆ©n, the Brazilian star could return to Camp Nou next season.

After underwhelming two seasons with Barca, Coutino left Spain last summer and joined Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich on loan. The 27-year-old attacker is still under contract with Camp Nou side, however, and Bayern would be required to pay a hefty fee in order to keep him.

Setien recently discussed Coutinho’s future with media outlet RAC 1, saying that he likes the player.

“Coutinho? I like him very much,” said Setien. “He is still a Barcelona player. You have to pay the clause or a transfer fee to Barca.”

According to Setien, Coutinho would be welcomed to the squad if he decided to return.

“I think he can be here at the beginning of next season,” he added. “I don’t know if he wants to come back or go away again, I have to talk to him to ask him. He is a great player, no doubt about it.”

Philippe Coutinho transfer that had the potential to be worth up to $180 million. Coutinho, however, struggled to make an impact in Spain, scoring just 13 goals in La Liga over the course of a season and a half.

Coutinho joined Bayern in hopes to find his form again but underperformed there as well. He played 32 games this season, scoring nine goals.
