Veteran corner Kyle Fuller is coming home. The Baltimore native will play for the Ravens in the 2022 NFL season after inking a one-year deal with the franchise on Tuesday.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Fuller earned $9.5 million playing with the Denver Broncos last season. However, it probably took a lot less money to bring him to Baltimore, especially considering that the 30-year-old player had one of his worst seasons as a pro in 2021.

Fuller is joining a stacked secondary that includes All-Pro cornerbacks Marlon Humphrey and Marcus Peters. However, Virginia Tech should have plenty of chances to make an impact. Baltimore will probably manage the workload of Humphrey and Peters, considering that both suffered season-ending injuries in 2021 and might not be ready 100 percent for Week 1.

Kyle Fuller entered the league in 2014 as Chicago Bears’ No. 14 pick. He spent seven years with the organization, earning one All-Pro and two Pro Bowl nods during that time. Fuller’s best campaign as a pro was in 2018 when he led the league with seven interceptions and 21 pass deflections.

While Fuller didn’t excel in Denver, there is no doubt that he can still be an impactful player. His struggles with the Broncos were a result of several factors, including the team’s wish to develop rookie Pat Surtain and him lining up a slot corner. The change of scenery will probably serve Fuller well, and he might get his career back on track sooner than later.
