Major League Soccer is becoming more interesting to European players each year, and even some of the biggest soccer stars in the world are planning to play in the United States one day. One of them is Atletico Madrid’s superstar forward Antoine Griezmann, who said on several occasions that he wouldn’t mind playing in U.S. one day.

Now the 27-year-old went one step further, saying that he would like to follow the footsteps of soccer greats like David Beckham and Thiery Henry, and finish his professional career in MLS.

I want to play in MLS,” – Griezmann recently told ESPN FC. “I’d like to finish my career there.

Antoine Griezmann explained that this desire comes due to his affinity for American culture and because he likes American sports like NBA and NFL.

They have a different mindset,” – Griezmann said. “I love the NBA and the show business aspect of it. I also love American football, and I love [the country] because no one [recognizes] me when I’m there.

While Antoine Griezmann is already thinking about moving to MLS, soccer fans in the U.S. shouldn’t expect to see him there anytime soon. It is most likely that Griezmann will first look to accomplish his goals with Atletico Madrid and try to win Spanish La Liga and Champions League before heading elsewhere.

Griezmann recently signed a new contract extension with Atletico, which should keep him with the club until 2023.
