It appears that German midfielder Mesut Ozil has played his last game with Arsenal. After not registering Ozil for the new UEFA Europa League campaign, the London club reportedly also decided to leave the 32-year-old player out of their Premier League squad.

English clubs had a 20th October deadline to submit a list of 25 players that they can use in Premier League matches in the 2020/21 season. According to ESPN, Ozil’s name isn’t on the list, which makes him ineligible to play.

Arsenal told Mesut Ozil to find a new club during the offseason, but the player opted to stay put and try to fight for a place on the first team. However, head coach Mikel Arteta made up his mind by then, not featuring Ozil since March.

Ozil is currently in the last year of his contract and will become a free agent next summer. However, Arsenal is expected to try and get rid of him in January, with the latest decision serving as a reminder to the German that he isn’t welcomed at Emirates anymore.

Ozil has been with Arsenal since 2013. He made 254 appearances for the club in all competitions and has contributed with 44 goals and 77 assists.
