Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton received a standing ovation from Bills’ fans during a preseason friendly held in Buffalo this Sunday. Dalton played a phenomenon role in helping the Buffalo-based team qualify from payoffs last season.

In one of the best moments between football fans and a former player, Bills’ fans welcomed Dalton back to Buffalo with a standing ovation that lasted over 90 seconds. Reminiscing the quarter back’s final game last season, the fans were jubilant to show their love to a player who will forever remain in their hearts.

During week 17 of the last NFL season, Dalton made a fourth touchdown pass to Tyler Boyd that helped knock out Baltimore Ravens from the playoffs. In its place, Buffalo Bills got into the playoffs for the first time since 1999.

More Love in Donations

In addition to a warm welcome to Buffalo, the Dalton foundation received more than $450,000 in donations from fans, Fox reported. To show appreciation, Dalton’s foundation made a donation to Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, a Buffalo-based organization.

Dalton’s wife, JJ, who co-runs the foundation with her husband, released a statement afterward to thank the fans:

“The Buffalo community has given so much to our foundation. As soon as the preseason calendar was released, we circled this date and knew we had to do something special,” JJ Dalton said.

Bills fans are traditionally known for their kindness particularly in donating to sports-related charities. After donating to the Dalton foundation, fox also reported the fans gave $150,000 to the Western Pennsylvania Athletic Association.
