American fans of Formula One will be able to cheer for Logan Sargeant in the 2024 season as well. The Fort Lauderdale, Florida, native is returning to Williams next year, with the F1 team officially confirming the news on Friday.

Sargeant’s future in F1 was in doubt at the end of the 2023 season, with Williams appearing non-committal to the 22-year-old. But it appears that the team boss, James Vowles, believes in his potential and ability to make progress in his sophomore year.

Sargeant had a rough rookie year in F1, failing to finish seven races, including five due to mistakes and crashes. He finished the season 21st out of 22 drivers, picking up only one point. However, there were some positive moments, including the No.6 place in qualifiers for the United States Grand Prix.

“I am pleased to continue our journey with Logan into the 2024 season,” Vowles said in a statement. “Logan has demonstrated immense skill whilst under the pressure of the world stage, making him a perfect fit for our team. We have great confidence in his abilities and believe that together, we can achieve even greater success in the upcoming season.”

Williams will also bring back Alex Albon for the 2024 F1 season. Albon had a much better year than Sargeant, scoring 27 points and helping the team to finish seventh in the Constructors’ Rankings.
