Two-time All-Star guard Zach LaVine will undergo knee surgery to address the injury that hampered him for the better part of the 2021-22 NBA season. According to The Athletic‘s NBA insider Shams Charania, the procedure will take place in the coming weeks, and LaVine is expected to make a full recovery.

LaVine experienced knee issues midway through the regular season and was forced to miss 15 games as a result. With MRI tests not showing structural damage to his knee, the 27-year-old player decided to play through pain in an attempt to propel his Chicago Bulls to the playoffs.

Despite not being fully fit, LaVine averaged 24.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game and made his second All-Star appearance. The Bulls would end up as the sixth seed in Eastern Conference, making the postseason for the first time since 2017. However, they were eliminated in the first round in five games by the reigning NBA champs, Milwaukee Bucks.

It remains to be seen whether Zach LaVine will have a chance for a do-over with the Bulls. LaVine is set to become an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career this summer and is reportedly willing to test the market. The Bulls are expected to make a strong run at re-signing him but will most likely face significant competition as LaVine will be among the top players available on the free agency market.

I am a reality TV junkie. My dream since I was a kid was to be on Big Brother, but until then you can catch me binge-watching episodes each summer.
