If Chilean attacker Alexis Sanchez wants to make his loan move to Inter Milan permanent, he will reportedly have to take a significant pay-cut.

Sanchez joined Inter on a season-long loan from Manchester United last summer and has left a solid impression despite struggling with injuries. According to The Telegraph, the Seria A side would like to keep the 31-year-old Chilean on board but will not match his current $730,000 per week salary.

Sanchez is set to rejoin Manchester United on August 7th, having two more years left on his contract with the club. However, it appears that neither side wants the reunion and would be interested in finding a way to move on separately.

The key factor in the resolution will be Alexis Sanchez’s willingness to take less money for a more prominent role. He would probably be an important piece on Inter’s team if he signs with the Italian club, but he would have to have his wages slashed more than half. On the other hand, Sanchez could stay in England, but wouldn’t play as much as he would like to.

Sanchez joined Man Utd in January 2018 from Arsenal, becoming the highest-paid Premier League player. However, he failed to settle in Manchester and ended up scoring just five goals in 45 games with the club.

United loaned him to Inter past summer, where he fared significantly better. He scored four goals but dished 10 assists in 28 games in all competitions.
