Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez didn’t wait too long to find a new team after reaching a contract termination agreement with Seria A side Inter Milan on Monday. Less than 24 hours later, Sanchez signed with French club Olympique de Marseille.

Reportedly, the 33-year-old player inked a two-year deal with the Ligue 1 side. He’s set to earn a yearly salary of around €2.5m per season.

Sanchez moves to Marseille after a mixed stint with Inter. He joined the Milan-based club on an initial loan from Manchester United in 2019 before committing to a permanent move a year later. However, he never managed to get comfortable on San Siro, scoring just 20 goals in 109 appearances in all competitions.

Sanchez, who also played for Barcelona at one point in his career, is best known for his stint with Arsenal. Between 2014 and 2018, the Chile international scored 80 goals for the Gunners and helped the club win two FA Cups.

When he arrives in France, Sanchez will be welcomed by a number of familiar faces he shared a locker room with while in London. Marseille has several former Arsenal players already on its roster, including midfielder Matteo Guendouzi and full-backs Sead Kolasinac and Nuno Tavares.
