Saudi Arabia side Al Ahli is reportedly interested in Manchester City’s star forward Riyad Mahrez. According to ESPN’s James Olley and Rob Dawson, Al Ahli is ready to offer Mahrez a $100 million contract to convince them to join the club.

Mahrez currently has two more years left on his deal with City but would reportedly be willing to consider his options due to lack of playing time. He was only a starter in 22 games in Premier League this season and scored five goals.

City wouldn’t mind letting Mahrez go but would require a substantial transfer fee. That certainly won’t be an issue for a wealthy Saudi Arabia club like Al Ahli, so the move will probably be down to whether the player wants to leave Europe.

The initial offer from Al Ahli to Mahrez would be a two-year deal with a $50 million annual salary. The contract would also include an option for a third year.

If Mahrez decides to take the lucrative deal, he will follow a number of high-profile players that already signed for Saudi Arabia clubs. After Cristiano Ronaldo joined Al Nassr in January, Karim Benzema followed him this month by signing for Al Ittihad. Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante is also believed to be closing in on a deal with a Saudi Pro League club.
