The red and black part of Milan is once again the best of the best in Italy. AC Milan made another step in its return to being one of Europe’s powerhouses again by claiming the Seria A title for the 2021-22 season. This is the club’s first domestic title in more than a decade.

AC Milan has been going back and forth at the top of Seria A table with their crosstown rivals and last season’s champions Inter for the better part of the campaign. But thanks to a good run towards the end of the season, Milan entered their last match against Sassuolo in charge of their own destiny. Any sort of win would get them Scudetto regardless of other results.

While Sassuolo proved to be a tough nut to crack, especially at their home stadium, Milan didn’t have any issues overcoming the last obstacle. Rossoneri took care of the business in the first half, rushing to a 3-0 lead. Olivier Giroud scored twice, and Franck Kessie added one goal to alleviate any concerns Milan fans might have. However, the second period turned out to be a formality, as Sassuolo didn’t show much willingness to change the score or attempt a comeback.

Milan won their last Seria A title in 2010-11, but this trophy was followed by some dark days. Since then, they only won Supercoppa Italiana and routinely finished out of the Champions League places on the standings. However, this season showed that the sleeping giants are starting to awake, and there is no doubt Rossoneri will once again be a force in Europe as many years before.
