Veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers had a chat with reporters on Tuesday and made sure to let everyone know how much he enjoys being a member of the New York Jets.
Rodgers joined the Jets last month after asking for a trade from Green Bay Packers and says he couldn’t be happier for his decision.
“Honestly, every day has been that for me,” Rodgers said. “Every day I wake up excited about coming to the facility. I have excitement about coming down Jets Drive. “
“It’s been like a dream month,” the four-time NFL MVP added.
Rodgers had a setback during Tuesday’s practice, straining his calf. However, the veteran doesn’t seem concerned about it and believes it is just a small tweak.
“I don’t think it’s too serious,” he shared.
The New York Jets gave up a significant package to get Aaron Rodgers, believing he was the missing piece they needed to win the Super Bowl. The Jets had one of the best defenses in 2022, but failed to get to the playoffs due to an underperforming offense. With Rodgers, that will hardly be an issue.
Rodgers had a down year in 2022 by his standards, throwing for 3,695 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions. However, he is just one year removed from back-to-back MVP campaigns, so the expectation is that the 39-year-old player will bounce back and get to his efficient self this year.
