Despite leaving the Green Bay Packers, quarterback Aaron Rodgers still wants his former franchise to continue “owning” the Chicago Bears. This is why Rodgers was happy to see that the Packers, led by new signal-caller Jordan Love, got the Week 1 win over their division rivals.

During a recent appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Rodgers revealed that he congratulated Love for “keeping the ownership” over the Bears.

“I said congratulations on keeping the ownership in place,” Rodgers said. “That was pretty awesome for him.”

Love played a good game versus the Bears, throwing for 245 yards and three touchdowns in a 38-20 win. However, he will need to have many more of those games if he wants to reach the level of Rodgers’ domination against their bitter rivals.

Since becoming the Packers’ full-time starting quarterback in 2008, Rodgers compiled a 24-5 record over the Bears. He took great pride in his ability to beat the Chicago team, even delivering a famous “I still own you” line to the Bears’ fans last season after scoring a touchdown.

Rodgers left Green Bay in the offseason, looking to start a new chapter in his career with the New York Jets. Unfortunately, he tore his Achilles in Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills and will likely miss the entire 2023 campaign.
