If you were wondering whether the rumors of Aaron Rodgers potentially leaving Green Bay were all smoke and mirrors, it’s time to put that argument to rest. After a discussion with Fox Sports reporter Erin Andrews, it’s pretty clear that Rodgers may go elsewhere relatively soon.

Due to the Green Bay Packers’ lack of commitment to him, it seems that Rodgers would rather start fresh somewhere else.

“They wouldn’t commit to me past 2021,” the quarterback explained. “So I figured if they want to make a change even though I just won MVP, why wait? They drafted my replacement, so let him play if that’s what you want. But I also could picture myself not playing, so it was a lot of things.”

Indeed, Rodgers has contemplated not just playing for another team, but also retiring in general. This is even more shocking to hear, considering he just won MVP so he’s clearly not showing signs of slowing down.

“I don’t feel like I have anything left to prove on the field,” the Packers legend said. “I think it’s more about the enjoyment and the happiness and the quality of life that this game has afforded me over the years. And being able to 100 percent commit to everything that my job entails and there were many times during the offseason where I felt like I wasn’t able to fully do that. And until I was, it was a possibility.”

Will this be Rodgers’ last year with Green Bay? No one knows for sure, but we’d savor each game if we were a Packers fan.
