2022 AL MVP Aaron Judge will continue rocking the New York Yankees uniform. According to multiple reports, Judge has agreed to a new deal with the Yankees that will pay him $360 million over the next nine years.

The contract Judge signed is the biggest in the history of MLB for a position player in terms of average annual salary ($40 million) and all but ensures that the 30-year-old will spend his entire career in New York.

Judge entered the 2022 MLB season on an expiring contract after turning down a reported 8-years, $230 million extension from the Yankees last offseason. This turned out to be a masterful move, as he compiled one of the greatest individual seasons in recent memory.

Judge played 157 games with the Yankees in 2022, batting .311 and finishing the campaign with 133 runs and 131 RBIs. He also hit 62 home runs, breaking Roger Maris’ American League record for most homers in a single season and securing MVP honors in the process.

The stellar performances gave Judge significant leverage in his free-agent negotiations and prompted teams like the San Diego Padres and the San Francisco Giants to make a move for him. However, the Yankees were not about to lose their best player and ended up making him an offer he simply couldn’t refuse.
