French power forward Guerschon Yabusele earned himself a new opportunity in the NBA with a standout performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Yabusele is set to sign a one-year deal with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Yabusele will reportedly earn a minimum salary of $2.1 million for the upcoming season.

Before the move becomes official, Yabusele will have to strike a deal with his current club, Real Madrid. He has a $2.5 million contract buyout with the Spanish side and might have to pay most of it out of his pocket. Under the NBA rules, the 76ers are only allowed to pay up to $850,000 for contract buyouts that involve players playing overseas.

Guerschon Yabusele initially entered the NBA in 2016 as a 16th overall pick by the Boston Celtics. He made his debut for the franchise a year later and played 74 games across two seasons before being waived.

After an unsuccessful stint with the Celtics, Yabusele spent time with Nanjing Monkey Kings and ASVEL before joining Real Madrid in 2021. Yabusele went on to establish himself as one of the best players in Europe and helped Real win the EuroLeague in 2023.

Yabusele further caught the attention of NBA scouts at the Paris Olympics, where he averaged 14.0 points and 3.3 rebounds with France en route to a silver medal.
