Believe it or not, the next edition of the FIFA World Cup is only two years away, and the organizers announced the event schedule for the premier soccer competition of the world on Wednesday.

While the World Cup typically takes place in the Northern Hemisphere’s summer in the months of June and July, the extremely hot temperatures that the host country of Qatar experiences during these months has forced the competition to be moved to the months of November and December in 2022.

The inaugural match of the competition will be held on Monday, November 22nd at 1:00 pm local time at Al Bayt Stadium in the city of Al Khor. The host country of Qatar will be one of the teams featured in this game.

The group stage of the event will last from the 21st of November until the 2nd of December at stadiums across the country.

After that, the Round of 16 matches will be held from December 3-6, the quarter-finals on December 9th and 10th, the semi-finals on December 13th and 14th, and the final will take place on December 18th at the Lusail Iconic Stadium.

Soccer fans don’t have much longer to wait until the world’s premier international competition returns, and they now have a concrete day to circle on their calendars for the excitement to start.

Gunner's favorite movies are Pulp Fiction, Iron Man (just the first one), and every James Bond film ever made. He's learning TV and cinema and hoping to always enjoy movies as he does now.
