In their first game without their star quarterback Dak Prescott, the Dallas Cowboys had a miserable outing on Monday night, losing 38-10 to the Arizona Cardinals.

Prescott suffered a gruesome ankle injury in the team’s win against the New York Giants last week and will not be coming back in 2020. Former Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton stepped in for the Cowboys and led a fourth-quarter drive to get the victory over the Giants.

However, he couldn’t get much going against Arizona. With Prescott out, the Cowboys had to rely on their star running back Ezekiel Elliott, who had a miserable game against the Cardinals, fumbling the ball twice.

Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray got off to a slow start and was fairly inaccurate throwing the ball all game, going just 9-24 for 188 yards. However, he managed to connect for two touchdowns with Arizona wide receiver Christian Kirk, which was enough to secure the win against Dallas’s struggling offense and porous defense.

Dallas is still in first place in the underachieving NFC East with a 2-4 record. They will look to right the ship on Sunday against division rivals the Washington Football Team, who lost to the Giants on Sunday and are currently in last place in the division with a 1-5 record.
